Stanislav Komanec

I’m the CTO and a member of the executive board at Kiwi.com, the Brno-born travel tech company. I lead an engineering organization of 400+ people behind a platform that handles more than 130 million searches and 50 million price updates every day.

My focus is engineering for the AI era: scaling impact, not headcount. At Kiwi.com, AI is the default way work gets done, not a side project. It now handles 80% of our customer-support throughput, more than 100,000 cases a month, and customer satisfaction is up 30%.

I believe the strongest engineering organizations of the next decade will be smaller, more senior and AI-native: AI takes the low-leverage work, platforms take the friction, and people spend their time on judgment. That is what I am building at Kiwi.com.

I grew into the role from the inside. I joined Kiwi.com in 2015 as a backend engineer, founded its Platform team, and built the platform-engineering and SRE practices that let autonomous teams move fast without headcount growing at the same rate.

Outside work, I’m an avid reader, enjoy whiskey tasting, and like exploring new business ideas.
